I would say to try your idea first,...or maybe a triple square like Peter
said.  If that doesn't work,...then just put a drill bit to the head of that
thing.  The head will pop off and the job is very quick.  Usually once you
get the pressure off the head the remainder of the bolt unscrews quite
easily.
