You can go that wide, but the width isn't necessarily what gives you the
grip.  The taller sidewalls have tons more flex than the 185's.  They also
throw your speedo and odometer off (if that's a big deal to you).   Go with
what you like.   If you like big fat doughnut tires; fine :)  Must be nice
driving through town though.
