re: Rieger distributer

I don't know if EAS is still around, but depending on what options you
wanted (corrado lights, 3piece wing) they asked for around $4000 for
the GTO widebody kit..

You don't need to go through a distributor to get a Rieger kit, though.
You can actually call Rieger Designs in Germany and order one directly.
The only caveat is that you have to arrange for your own freight
forwarder (this is essentially the "distributor's" function). They will
have agents in Germany arrange for transporting the kit from Rieger to
your international shipping carrier and then take deal with customs
when it gets to the US.

The benefits of doing it yourself are:
1) you KNOW what you're getting, since you place the order yourself and
can go through each item.
2) you can save some money (I'd say between $500-$1000)

The negatives:
1) you have to find a freight forwarder at a reasonable fee
2) you have to call Germany when you *should* be sleeping

HTH!
