Well, it's hard to comment on this without seeing it, so I'll have to take 
your word on it. When you lifted it, did you lift it beyond the normal ride 
height, so that it dropped back to the correct height after a moment. That 
sounds like a sticking shock.

So now it is at the right height, but it won't compress? That does indeed 
sound like a siezed shock.
