CV Joint woes...

I replaced the passengerside CV joint yesterday. It came with both the inner
& outer CV's on a new axle. Tonight I heard grinding, a click actually
coming from that part of the car. What & how should I look for?
I replaced the 12 point bolts with hex head 13mm bolts, the VW parts shop
was closed and no one else had any. Could that be it?
