Just so you know, when my tranny self-machined itself into oblivion, it
didn't give me *any* warning whatsoever.... it went at the same time the
clutch cable snapped. Here I am sitting at the side of the road saying
"Okay, so my clutch cable snapped... but why is there a pool of gear oil
underneath my car???

Turns out the ring gear came loose and punched a hole in the case.
