Having seen this happen once a long time ago (way before gauge faces), I
discovered that disconnecting the speedo, and either turning the speedo
drive by hand a few times or driving the car a bit to turn the cable driver
to a different position has fixed it. The only reason I can think of
is that the pickup / driver are connecting differently or more correctly.
Having personally done literally dozens of gauge face clusters for people,
this speedo not working thing hasn't happened at all. Don't you guys
realize these things need to be handled delicately? :-) Hmmm, maybe
I should stress that more in the install instructions...the drive
portion might also be slipping. :( I wonder if the cable drive could be
made slightly larger, or the speedo pickup slightly tighter?

(I realize you were probably very careful, but since I'm not you, I
cannot have any idea on how you actually handled things so it's tough
to say exactly what's going on...)

Neal, no problems due to the unfortunate incident I hope?

later!
