I agree , a 16v conversion can be had for faily cheap . The single most 
expensive item for my car was the TT exhaust . 
I bought a 2.0 16v for 150 . 
Bought a 16v parts rocco for 300 and sold off more than I paid for it . 
(still have some parts left for sale) 

Put her on the Dyno and came up with 126 at the wheels . All this for less 
than 1G . 
also runs 14s in the qtr .
