16v valve sizes

i was looking through the VAG cd and i noticed that there are 2
different exhaust valve sizes and different valve stem sizes on 16v
engines.

it seems to me that when the 16v became a tall block (late 9A and ABF),
vw shrank the exhaust valves from 98.2mm to 97.95mm but also shrank the
valve stems from 38mm to 35mm for all the valves.

the new head also has a different part number, did they change the port
design again?

anyone have more info?? i'm dreaming of getting the euro ABF engine.
