clear turn indicators -got'm!

-for my GTi, that is...

Remember a week or two ago when I mentioned that I'd found a source for
clear front turn indicators? I ordered a pair, received and have
installed them. -pretty cool if you ask me! They came without yellow
bulbs, but that was an inexpensive and easy mission to accomplish.

Now, as for the quality, they definitely aren't OEM level bits. The
edges are not of consistent thickness and the plastic itself feels very
fragile. In fact, my driver's side indicator came with a small corner
broken off of it. However, I called the owner of Vee Parts, explained
what the deal was, and he promised to cross ship a part for me today!
-not to shabby...

The bottom line is, that they look good and are definitely worth the
mere $34 that they charge. No, they aren't the best quality, but I can
look past that. I'm entirely happy with everything.

The funny thing is that I now believe that I'll never do it to my Mk1
Rocco. With the two round lights up there plus the indicators, there'd
simply be too much horizontal white area. It'd predominate the front end
of the car causing a visual distraction. Looking at the few photo
examples that were posted confirms this for me. So, what works great on
the Rabbit looks like shite on the early Scirocco, imho. Methinks I'll
just tint the stockers a bit to tone down the orange. The rear lights of
both cars (which I definitely don't like in clear form) will be tinted
red.
