As I'm sure has been pointed out a bunch of times already...this isn't
quite correct. Many A1 8v Scirocco's (post 1984ish) have 100mm cv's. I
happen to own an 85 with them for example (yes, they are original). :)

Oh, incidentally, when I swapped in a drive axle from a 1984 GTI, I
also had to swap one of the tranny output flanges and bearing carriers
from the GTI so I could fit the 90mm CV joint shaft to my 100mm joint'd
1985 Scirocco.
