<x-charset iso-8859-1>It could have been a Dasher, or perhaps a Quantum 2 dr. I saw one in Duluth
last summer, driven by an older gent. I'd love to get my hands on one,
personally. According to 'Illustrated VW Buyer's Guide', the Quantum was
first exported to the US in coupe and wagon styles for 1982, with the sedan
arriving in 1983. I've seen quite a few sedans and wagons, but only the one
coupe.

If anyone wants, I can try to get the pic of the coupe scanned.
