Wet sanding

Does anyone have info regarding wet sanding of automotive finishes?  The 
previous owner (PO) of my faded Tornado Red 16V had outfitted this fine 
example of a beatswalkin' with a bra.  The hood paint looks as though the 
PO (affectionately referred to by me as: the F'ing idiot) left the bra 
donned Scirocco to bake in Death Valley type sun for ages.  I've polished 
the bonnet with, appropriately enough because its bra related, Mother's 
finish restorer.  This helped, but there is still a visible "tan" line 
left.  I'm lactating, oops, I mean, looking for solutions other than 
repainting...

...BTW, anyone who would like a 48 Double D Scirocco bra, it's free for 
anyone willing to pick it up.
