  If you intend to drive at all on slippery surfaces (water, ice, snow),
get FOUR identical tires. The rear wheels seem to be there just for the
ride, but if the front tires have more grip that the rears, you will fishtail.

  It happend to me in my Rabbit way back in 77. I ended up facing the
wrong way on an on ramp, because it had rained during the night, the
pavement was wet in the sun, but the on-ramp was in the shade - and
icy. I did an instant 180 and sat there on the ramp, staring at the traffic
coming at me.

  It could have been worse, the ramp could have been narrower and the
traffic closer. As it is, they saw me and stopped in time.

  A buy my tires in quads ever since.
