What you are describing sounds like the difference between an A1 
e-manifold vs. an A2 e-manifold. 

Simply put, don't bother trying to get an A2 manifold to fit in an A1 
chassis. The shift linkage gets in the way of the downpipe. It is much 
easier to just port out the A1 manifold.
