windshield wiper problem!

    I have an 85 vw scirocco, my windshield wipers wont turn. I figured
it must be the splines in the spindle to the wiper arms that is striped
(I have seen this problem a while ago). After taken it apart sure enough
that is what had happened, there maybe one or two splines left on it!! I
tight the nut really hard and they turn now. But for how long? Since i
don't think this will solve the problem very long I was wondering if I
can use these part from any vw? Rabbit, golf, jetta, etc... Or do I have
to find them from a scirocco (spindle and wiper arm)?
