You might be amazed at some of the stuff you could see.  There is currently
at least one Nissan Skyline GTR on the Import Drag circuit right now that
has 1000hp and will run in mid 8 second 1/4 miles.  There is a Twin Turbo
911 that will pull the front tires off of the ground in the first 3 gears
thru the 1/4 at a trap speed of over 150mph.  There are many 10 second turbo
RX7s as well as 10 and 11 second DSMs.  The Hondas continue to get faster,
but with 400+ hp what do you expect.  There are many running in the 11s
right now, a few running 10s and at least one that I have seen in a magazine
that was close to 9s.
The VWs that I have read about and seen at the Import Drags generally run in
the 14s and 15s with the fastest of them running in the low 14s or high 13s.
But, the VR6 cars do sound much better than the Hondas that are whipping
their asses.
