Subject: a3 jetta problem and some scirocco stuff

hello all,

my friend's A3 '95 jetta is having a sunroof problem.
It will not open all the way, and when she tries to close it,
she must keep pushing the button.  It will only move an
inch at a time.  I'm thinking it's the switch, but would like to
make sure.

Also, since I had my car smogged and the eurosport exhaust put
on, my rocco will occasionally drop extremely low at idle after a
hard run.  It will flutter and drop to about 200 rpms, and rise again
to 1100 and then settle.  This does not happen all the time.

Any ideas on either?

any and all help is greatly appreciated.....

I think this is the way it works. My Mom's A3 Golf has the moonroof and you have to hold the button the whole time you want it to move. She usually just closes it with the key in door (holding it closes the roof) Sometimes it leaks when she tries to close it fully with the inside button.

For the second, did you get it smogged after or before you put the new exhaust on? My thinking is if you put it on after the smog, the new exhaust could play funky with the past settings. Just a thought.

HTH
