A touch taller profile tire will fix you right up, goes well with the
lowering springs.

When you are measuring the space between the top of the tire and the
lower edge of the wheel arch you have to factor in all kinds of things;
size of rim, brand/size/ratio of tire, condition of - springs, shocks,
shock mounts, etc., etc. Plus, Old cars sag & new parts settle after
awhile.

Best advice when comparing things is to measure from the middle of the
rim, that is, the axle mid point, to the arch lip. All things being
equal (on any given car) you can then compare before and after.
