I have H&Rs with Boge TurboGas. There's about 1 1/2 - 2 finger spaces
between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch. The drop from stock was
just about an inch.

I would never recommend cutting any springs, but that's just my opinion.
It really depends on what shocks you have, how your roads are, and what
your priorities are. Dropping the car 2" won't help handling, and unless
you have rock-hard shocks, all you'll do is bottom out on the slightest
suggestion of a bump. Now, if you're after a certain "look", and don't
care what else, save your money and cut your stock springs.
