RE: Inlet manifold problem/question



this sounds awfully close to the way the injectors are set up in the 16V
sciroccos.  there is a common air "tunnel" that connects the injectors.
this is an "air shrouded" engine.  the air-shroud system consist of an extra
little cap stuck on the end of each injector with a sealing O-ring.  this
lower O-ring seals against a lower injector insert, also only common to this
type of engine.  the air passage way connects all the injectors
together....somehow...  the purpose is for better atomization of the fuel at
lower rpms.  i'm 90% sure of it.  yeah, that's the ticket...
