Re: Inlet manifold problem/question

Chris,

This sounds an awful lot like my '84 GTI head I have in my '81. On the
back of the head is a small rubber hose that joined to the air intake in
another life. Prior to or after the TB I forget ( I have a premortem
diagram somewhere ), but it currently is connected to the smaller of the
two valve cover ports, just because it fit.

On the back side of the head this rubber hose is connected to a small
'plastic' junction that disappears into the head.

Might this '84 GTI head have an air shrouded injector setup?

When I pulled the injectors during the swap and to replace the seals I
did not notice any extra bits on them, in fact I first had the old 1.6's
FI in there and they fit all fine. I never bothered to back the
injectors seat out for inspection.

tia,
TBerk
