MK1 side reflectors (North American only)

european listers - ignore this - your govts did not require side markers on MK1s.

What is my point? The rear side reflectors on my 1981 are HEAVILY faded - a result of years in the sunny Florida sun. Fortunately for us MK1 owners, these were also shared with the 1975-1977 Rabbit, the Dasher, the Audi Fox, and notably - the A1 Cabriolet (thru 1993).

I go to a pick & pay (the owner of which has been getting progressively more demented over the years) - I find an Audi Fox with one nearly perfect one - I figure maybe $3, so I pull it.

I go to "check out" - the guy wants $10. I told him I could get a new one for $10. He balked. I left it on the counter.

In fact, you can get it brand new from suppliers we know on this list - for LESS than $10 [this is the good news].

The moral of the story? There is no moral. Or maybe it's that I should never go back to that yard. Or maybe i'M JUST BORED. Or perhaps we have great vendors on the list. I don't know . . .

I love my Sciroccos . . .
