Question...

I have an 86 GTi...it has failed emissions....the engine is idling funny, 
kind of up and down between 900-1200 RPM.  There is also some smoke from the 
tailpipe, and a bit from the engine....PLEASE HELP!!  There was some oil in 
the airbox as well...What might this mean?  There is also a bit of noise 
under acceleration...sounds almost like an air cooled VW.  Any help would be 
greatly appreciated!
