K+N Filters?

Hi Folks, I have an '84 Wolfie.  I hear a lot of you talking about how
much a difference a K+N filter makes for performance. Are they really
that effective? If so, is there a specific model of filter that I should
get? Is the intake roar really loud? Where is a good place to buy one?
Any other simple performance mods? A lot of questions, I know,  but I
appreciate your help. Thank you.
