Re: VAG CD

The CD is not territory specific - it contains data for all markets. I
suspect it origianlly came from Germany as there is a price file which would
appear to be German but it could just be a default install file.
As far as protection goes, my understanding is that it will run under
windows 95/98 straight out of the box, no modification necessary & no dongle
required. I haven't personally tested this but I haven't heard anything to
suggest otherwise.
Installation under NT requires a runtime library to be copied from the win
95 installation set after you have completed installation. If you do not do
this then it will not run. I know this works as this is how I installed it
on my system. Again no dongle required. My guess is that either the win
95 version of the runtime library has been patched to bypass the dongle
protection and that this library is compatible with the NT version or maybe
the '95 version just isn't protected. I haven't got round to comparing
versions to see if there is much, if any, difference.
