    The excuse I heard was of course emissions. Someone also mentioned the
smaller diameter increased airflow velocity though. I always removed mine. I
think that the Muir text recently mentioned gave instructions on removing
the restrictor. Take a small sheet metal screw, thread it into the small
brass tube that holds the restrictor in, grab the end with a pair of pliers
and pull the tube out. Once the restrictor has been removed, the brass tube
can then be replaced. This is from memory, possibly deficient as I sometimes
suffer from CRS syndrome.(Can't Remember Shit)
