SV: Need your advise here!

Hello.

A3 cars come both as cable shift gear box (VR6, 2l 16V) and as the old shifting mechanism (1,6l for shure) as we have in our cars. Old type of gear box is more or less plug and play, drive flanges might need to get changed.

Cable shifter gearbox from G60 at least do bolt up to motor, but you need to fabricate your own rear and left gear box mounting point. Drive shafts might need fabrication and taking from other models.

It's not so much work adapting the cable shifting mechanism, the hardest part is fabricating gear box mounts.

you can

In some Passats with cable shifting mechanism you have manual clutch so you can have your old clutch wire and cable shifting gear box.

You can bolt and old style gear box to a never motor, no problem
