Re: True Hp Gain?

Care should be taken not to "add up" all the
horsepower gains claimed by a given upgrade.

All of your mods are to increase airflow through
the engine. In the end the net effect will be limited
by the engine porting, valves, and cam timing.

I have added a K&N filter, tri-Y header, enlarged
throttle body (you can do this with the stock one),
Autotech sport 2-inch exhaust with high flow muffler
and I guess the overall effect is less than 15-20%
on my 1.6L engine (maybe 90-95 instead of 78 hp).
But the low-end torque was greatly improved.

Also, if you are running a K-Jetronic system you
need the larger 80 mm air-flow meter to take advantage
of the larger throttle body and K&N filter.
