funky intake manifold, and turbo q

ok i saw 2 of thses at the junkyard and was wondering what the hell 
this setup was,

intake manifold had the airbox bolted right ontop of it, sidways,
the throttle cable attached to some huge fuel disributor in the front
of the 8v. I saw one in a Caddy (truck) all primered and it was 
really really looking sharp, liek someone had done all the bodywork 
but nver painted it..it was in a junkyard in Houston...

so umm how the hell does this setup work?

oh also the junkyard had two KKK turbos off an audi-5000, will
this bolt up to a turbo diesel manifold? these turbos didnt have a 
wastegate so umm does that mean it will blow up if reved to high or 
is it a set maximum boost? the junkyard only wants 150 for a complete
turbo/manifold setup..if they can locate a manifold
