coolant smell

I have the dreaded coolant smell coming out of the heater. It only
smells when the switch is in the floor position. I can't smell it in the
other positions. I also have plenty of heat. Is it time to worry or is
this somewhat normal, maybe, please? Just out of curiousity how much is
a heater core for this thing?
