Re: Jamex Hood Lifts in a Scirocco?

Thats was my car on Jwelty. Sorry it took me so long to reply but I has a
long holiday weekend. Well its pretty easy to install, if you don't mind
drilling and going to the hardware store for some random parts.

Ok the random parts your going to need. First. two nuts to thread on the
self tapping screws. Sounds silly but you need them Or second thing to get.
Two little ball ended bolts like the ones that come with the kit, and some
washers and nuts.

Now drill a hole about a half an inch to an inch from the rain tray wal
and about a half inch to inch from top of the engine bay, where the fender
bolts are. Do the same on the other side using the same measure ments from
the first side. Try to get the the same. Now you need to get the wheel well
covers off and on the passenger side you need to move some parts. Not to sure
what they are but its pretty easy. Put the bolts in and the washers on each
side, the washer in the wheel well helps spread stress, trust me on this one.
Now conect the hood lift, I have the thin part of the lift at the bottom.
Lift hood all the way up and then let it come down an inch or so. Mark where
the stud with ball end will drill into. Now do the same to the other side.
Conect and your done. If your car is like mine it should work. I know this
goes against anything that the instructions tell you but it is one of the
only ways it works.

I would have tried other ways but well I didn't want to drill more holes
into my car.
Well wish you all luck I know these direstions suck but until I update my
site and put pictures up its the best I can do.
Later
~Danny~
