RE: Wiring Harness to Radiator

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well I was looking to possibly do that. But when I took a good look at the
wires, I realized how thrashed some of them were. I'm not sure how this
thing was working. It's totally cooked. The red wire leading from the
thermoswitch to the relay looked brown. The casing is cracking and flaking
away and there's corrosion at both connectors. To splice and crimp would be
the same as running all new wires. Running all new wires is an option, but
then I loose all of the wiring harness connectors (a couple of unique 3
prongs and 2 prongs). According to Mr. Bentley, I need the wires from an
87-89 Scirocco. The local pick-a-part has 3-4 MkII. I think I'll take the
ride and see if I can get something a little more usable or rebuildable.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll re-read it all tomorrow to see if it sparks
a better idea. But first, I need to get some sleep and stop whining.

I was going to recomend that very thing. Why not just splice in using
butt (heh-heh) connectors and a good piece of heat shrink tubing? Works
just fine and it saves you the extra work of swaping out the entire
harness.
