brake conversion

i did make a rear disk conversion on my scirocco gti 1982 , now the
braking is better but not as i expected it to be , the mechanic guy over
here says i have to install a 16valve brake servo , or a late 80's golf
gti 8 valve , so what do you think .If i use the servo from a 1989 golf
1.8 8v gti will it enough ? because it's so hard to find a 16valve over
here .
