Your master cylinder is a 20mm, the 16v master is 22mm, some golfs also have
the 22.
I think some corrados had a 23mm ?? some Audis (1990 Audi 90) had a 25mm
master.
The size of the master cylinder is cast onto the side of it in beveled
numbers.

You can use a larger master cylinder which will reduce the pedal travel, but
if you don't add the correct proportioning valves, your rear disks might
lock up under hard braking.
