Better weight distribution since something like 65% of a VW's weight is
over the front wheels. I have my crossweights somewhere from when I
was running the scales at an SCCA national event. They were something
like RF 600 LF 600 RR 400 LR 400. Thats with No AC and the battery in
the spare tire well of my 83 Rabbit. Besides if you saw whats left of my
battery tray the relocation was really a no brainer - Its rusted almost
completely away. Ever driven a car like a porsche with perfect 50/50
weight distribution? Its a very nice feeling.

Its not that big of a pain to do - Alot like running speaker wires but
much bigger. Go to an SCCA event and I guarantee 9 out of 10 SP
VW's will have their battery in the rear. The extra weight still doesnt
keep the rear wheels on the ground though.
