storing brake calipers

The recent messages reminded me that I have two rear calipers that I
know work, and which I want to store (sorry, won't sell). They don't
have brake fluid in them and the hole where the brake line threads in
is uncapped.

In order to store them properly is it necessary to fill the brakes w/
fluid and cap the hole or can I get away w/ just capping the hole to
keep contamination out? Am I being paranoid?

Thanks,

Victor
