Re: headliner replacement

You might search around on the Web for places that sell kits. I
know they're out there for domestic vehicles, though I haven't
checked for Volkswagens. If you don't have a kit, there might be
some sewing involved. But if everything was precut and measured,
you could probably send this out to a tailor dude for a lot less
than if you paid someone to do the whole job.

| i want to replace the headliner in my '86. it was white but
the
| bastard who had it before me smoked so now it's a cream colour
(tar
| stains around the sun visors...). i would like to replace it
with a
| black headliner (would need black sunvisors. anyone have a pair
lying
| around?) to match my carpet, but don't know how much of a job it
would
| be to get into. has anyone else (tried to) replace their
headliner? any
| comments? should i go for the vinyl, napped cotton, or the
velour? i
| don't mind the stuff that's in there now (not napped cotton, nor
vinyl,
| i think) except for the colour. any replies would be helpful.
thanx.
