944 arms - Re: WTB: A-arms

The 924/944 series suspension stems from the A1 VW chassis. The 924 and
early 944 use the same steel control arm as the A1 chassis with some minor
differences, it may (not sure on this point, the alloy arms are) be longer
bushing to bushing and the holes for the swaybar mount are drilled
differently. BTW they use a neat aluminum bracket to mount the swaybar to
the arm, looks as though that could be a crossover part too... hey! every
gram counts with unsprung weight.

To the point, the late 944 alloy arms will fit in place (supposedly) of the
steel arms on an A1, but they must be cut down. I do not know if welding is
required, but would have to vote on 'yes' if guessing. The alloy 944 (even
968 uses them) arms arm $$$$, even used. THe balljoint is built into the arm
do reduce unsprung weight.... so when the balljoint goes, you need a new arm
- though they can be rebuilt.
