It's not completely unaffordable.  You could probably get a '72 XJ12 that
runs for $5g to $10g and there is a huge industry devoted to Jaguar parts.
But you'd want the V12 engine in good nick, as its a hard do-it-yourselfer
and costly to repair.  As you say, it has great lines, the best interior
this side of a Rolls Royce, and a wonderful ride handling combination for
the seventies and even today.  It's no sports car, but it's a great car to
go touring fast in.
