leaking gas

I found a gas leak today ....coming out of the little twisty pipe that
comes from the transfer pump thinga-ma-jiggy...it is a pretty odd
shaped pipe so I am guessing someone might kmow what I am talking
...can I just replace it with a piece of hose??....any help with this
would be appreciated....
