Well, the thing has been running a tad hot (consistently) for a while. This
makes me think that I can tackle this with some of the common vw methods. Note:
the lower temp cooling fan made a BIG difference.

Perhaps not, I think I'll try the 180' (slightly hotter) thermostat first.

Yeah, baby! got one. That's one of the benifits I'm seeing from this already, my
oil temp has dropped noticably. Before, I had a bit of a problem, even with the
cooler. I used to run 120'c on a hot day, now I stay around 85' - 100'c.

I did just that. I haven't installed it yet, but the 180 is from a more
reputable dealer. Cost me $11.95...

Definitely. Also, the turbo causes it to be pretty desireable.
