Hmmm. I was going to recomend you check very closely all of the vacume
hoses as well as the intake boots. 
The easiest thing to do with the intake boot is to completely remove it,
inspect the boots where they clamp to one another. Bend, flex, fold the
boots to see if you have a crack anywhere. Then reinstall them. That
would easily cause the problems you are having. If the boots are simply
misaligned then the reinstalation prccess should get everything back
together tight like it should be. If it clears up after that, then you
know.

Otherwise, its on to bigger and better things but at least you ruled out
the vacume leaks as a possible sourse for your delima.
