Ian, I had a set of 14x6 Borbet type "C"'s on my rocco once that I got from the
Tire Rack, and they are excellent rims.  They looked much bigger than they
actually were, and I put VW centers in them so they looked factory.  When you go
up in wheel size, you usually do go up in unsprung weight.  15x7 with a 35mm
offset seems to be the optimum set up for A1 VW's, but 16's work ok too.
