    Well, the bad box was in my '84 Scirocco.  I got lucky and found one in
about an '86 Jetta GL.  I think there were a few more in some Golfs right
around 86.  Apparently this thing is much more common then I was lead to
believe.  About any 1.8L 8v from around that time appears to work.  Just
match up the VW part number on the Bosch sticker.
