Re: BMW almost made the New Scirocco, why can't VW?

Yep, SEAT is a Spanish subsidiary of VW. They use the various small VW
platforms (under Passat size), VW motors 2 liters and under, and VW parts
bin stuff. Interstingly, up to their buyout by VW in the late 80's/early
90's, they were making Fiats under license.
Also part of the VW stable is, of course, Audi, but few people stateside
know that Skoda is also an arm of VW AG. (Skodas are made in the Czech
republic and previously were the subject of many jokes, like "What happens
when your Skoda has worn-out shocks? You bounce your Czech", etc.).

Interesting to note that the new Audi TT (which IMHO is the spiritual
successor to the Scirocco) is put together in a new Audi plant in Hungary.
What do you all think of the TT?
