Water temperature??

I (finally) got to installing an extra water temp. sender and hooked it 
up to the VDO water temp gauge. When the swing gauge is dead center (over 
the LED) the gauge shows ~160F. I thought it should be higher and maybe 
my sender is bad or something. 

Those of you with water temp. gauges in your car: what kind of degrees F 
do you get when the car is warmed up?
