Aerodyne turbos have a sealed cartridge, and are not connected to the
engine oil supply. The can be mounted on any axis, and because of their
Variable Area Turbine Nozzle(VATN) technology, they spool up quick, with no
lag. The VATN also works as a wastegate, so no external waste gate is
needed. They're really neat pieces, I just don't know if they are currently
made in sizes to flow enough for a 16V app. I've mainly seen/heard of them
on snowmobiles, motorcycles, and the like. Also, they are $$$$ compared to
regular turbos.
