Tapets prob

Hi 'm new to the list,

I bought an 87 1.6 GT Scirroco in May this year, it had 149,000 miles on the 
clock when I bought it and has been relatively problem (usual maintenence) 
until recently.

When I bought it I noticed that when the fuel gauge registered under a quarter 
of a tank then when I put my foot down I'd get a sudden drop in power on 
reaching about 3000 rpm for a few seconds then the power would appear.  I put 
this down to a semi blocked fuel line and was going to do something about it.  
However it seemed to clear up after a new lot of fuel.  It occasionally does it 
(usually just below quarter of a tank) any suggestions.

Secondly, over the last month or two my tapets have been making a hell of a 
noise until the car gets slight above normal temperature, then they shut up, I 
have checked the oil level, which appears to be fine.  I have done 6,000 miles 
since purchase so am about to put it through a full service.  Any suggestions 
as to my prob cos I'm not sure if my tapets are self adjusting or not.

On the tire thing, I have a set of 15" alloys that I need tires for, any suggestions 
for the type of tire to go for?  ATM I have 14" crappy wheels on.

Anyone know where I can get a new rear windscreen wiper motor from for mine.

Ans does anyone know someone who can get a front and rear bumpers for a 
Scirroco Storm (84 I think) Mk II in excellent condition, because his is a show 
car and the bumpers are a little scratched.
