MK2 Euro light variations

based on my impressive library (right!)

The MK2 line-up initially was:

Scirocco L (1.3), Scirocco LS (1.5)  - single rectangular halogen
headlights with the grill "filler" where the inner "hi beams" would have
been
Scirocco GL - "normal" euro lights (big H4, smaller inner "hi beams")
Scirocco GT - the four rectangular 4X6 that all U.S. Mk2s sported (not
sealed beam though)
I believe all the "higher" GTi, GLi, GTX, etc.  models came with the 
"normal" euro lights (big H4, smaller inner "hi beams") (at least that's
what all my photos show)

Again, this was in the early years of the Mk2

Those grille extenders were really classy looking!

Am I right in thinking that those early MKII GTIs had double square 
lights, similar looking to the US MKII lights?
